Six years ago on January 20th was a very interesting day for me, like every day, I woke up to my alarm and my daily routine. I went straight to the computer instead of giving thanks to God for a new day, I went to the bank and returned to my house overwhelmed because I couldn't find anything else to do, so I did what I do best, I took a shower and went to a mall in Milpitas, California.
I drove from San Jose all the way to Milpitas (like 10 minutes commute lol), got off my car, I took my jacket and put it on, then I took few steps and begun to ask myself (Don't laugh, as if you hadn't done it before...) So I asked myself: -Alan?... What are we doing today?, Should we go to the movies?, Should we go shopping?, Should we get something to eat? Should we? Should we???
So I kept walking to the entrance and right before I stepped into the mall I said this with a small inner voice - God, How come you've forgotten me? Then, I kept walking and thinking about what should I be doing that day.
After few minutes walking and wondering around the mall, I finally sat down in the food court, I took my phone out and begun to look at my contact list to see How could I call to hang out.
Suddenly an old man came to my table to approach me, He had a soft voice like the most loving father would have, and also he had a tiny but peaceful eyes I have ever seen. His hair, white as snow, and a smile that showed compassion. His language far away different from mine, but I didn't care at all, so he asked -How are you? -- Good. - I said. | May I have a sit with you? -- Sure, go ahead . |
Then with a shaking voice he says: Did you know that Jesus is coming back soon? -- Of course. - I answered. | How did you know? - He asked. -- Well , because the Bible says so. -- That was my answer.
He smiled and then he said: Well, I'm a pastor, and I'm here because I saw you walking around wondering in the mall and God gave me a word for you.
He reached into his briefcase and pulled out an old Bible, the Bible was in two different languages, Korean and English. The Lord our God, your Father says: Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. He finished by saying: I encourage you to keep believing, to keep walking and to keep dreaming, God hasn't forgotten you, He hasn't done with you.
Then he wanted to bless me, so he did, he prayed in Korean, I couldn't understand a thing but my spirit did. Once he was finished, he stood up and the he got lost in the crowd.
I spent like 10 minutes thinking on what just happened. Then I said: -God, please forgive me, I know that you haven't forgotten me. I was the one who has done it.
